Job Title: Senior Accountant

Job Summary

The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. This role plays a key part in month-end close, financial analysis, and mentoring junior accounting staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS and company accounting policies.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits and respond to audit requests.
  • Review and improve accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Supervise and mentor junior accountants or accounting staff.
  • Support tax preparation, filings, and compliance (as applicable).
  • Collaborate with finance, operations, and management teams on financial matters.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • CPA, ACCA, or equivalent certification preferred (or in progress).
  • Experience with audits and regulatory compliance.
