Our client, a visionary leader in the renewable energy sector, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Renewable Energy Project Manager to spearhead the development and execution of solar and wind power projects. This is a fully remote role, offering the flexibility to manage projects across various geographical locations while driving the transition to sustainable energy solutions. You will be responsible for overseeing all phases of project development, from initial feasibility studies and site selection to engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning. The ideal candidate possesses a strong technical background in renewable energy systems, exceptional project management skills, and a passion for sustainability.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end management of solar and wind energy projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and resource analysis for new renewable energy installations.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including scope, budgets, timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
  • Oversee the design, engineering, and procurement processes for solar panels, wind turbines, inverters, and associated balance-of-system components.
  • Manage relationships with EPC contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental regulations, permitting requirements, and safety standards.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement proactive solutions to mitigate risks and keep projects on track.
  • Manage project finances, track expenditures, and control costs to achieve financial objectives.
  • Coordinate with grid connection authorities and utility companies to ensure seamless integration of renewable energy systems.
  • Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in project execution and renewable energy technologies.

This position is fully remote, requiring strong self-discipline and communication skills. The operational scope covers projects throughout Nigeria, with significant interest in regions like Abeokuta, Ogun, NG , for potential development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Renewable Energy), or a related technical field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in project management, with at least 4 years focused on renewable energy projects (solar PV and/or wind).
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering complex renewable energy projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong technical understanding of solar and wind energy technologies, grid integration, and energy storage systems.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
  • Excellent understanding of project finance, contract negotiation, and risk management in the energy sector.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a remote, fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of Nigerian energy regulations and permitting processes is an advantage.
  • Relevant certifications such as PMP are highly desirable.
