The Purchase Officer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing the supply of IT gargets, stationaries, raw materials, spare parts, consumables, and services required for efficient manufacturing operations.

The role ensures timely procurement at competitive prices while maintaining quality standards and compliance with company policies.

Source and procure stationaries, raw materials, packaging materials, spare parts, and other production-related items in line with approved specifications.

  • Prepare and process purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and vendor contracts.
  • Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with reliable suppliers and vendors.
  • Obtain and analyze quotations to ensure cost-effectiveness and value for money.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production, warehouse, and stores to prevent stock-outs or overstocking.
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials to support uninterrupted production schedules.
  • Track and follow up on outstanding purchase orders and resolve supply issues.
  • Ensure all procured items meet required quality and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, documentation, and reports.
  • Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
  • Support periodic supplier performance evaluations and audits.
  • Liaise with Finance to ensure proper invoice verification and payment processing.

Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Purchasing & Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in procurement, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Professional certification e.g., CIPS, CIPSMN is an added advantage.
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
