Job Title: MEP QA/QC Engineer

Job Purpose

As a MEP QA/QC Engineer, you are responsible for ensuring that all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works are executed in compliance with approved drawings, specifications, codes, and quality standards. The role focuses on quality assurance, quality control, inspections, testing, and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance & Quality Control

• Develop, implement, and maintain QA/QC procedures and quality plans for MEP works.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, approved drawings, method statements, and applicable codes and standards.
• Conduct regular inspections of MEP installations to ensure workmanship quality.
• Identify non-conformities and issue NCRs; follow up on corrective and preventive actions.

Inspection, Testing & Commissioning

• Witness and verify inspections, testing, and commissioning of MEP systems.
• Review and approve Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and checklists.
• Ensure testing results comply with design and performance requirements.
• Coordinate with commissioning teams and consultants during system handover.

Documentation & Reporting

• Review material submittals, shop drawings, and method statements from a QA/QC perspective.
• Maintain QA/QC records including inspection reports, test results, NCRs, and as-built documentation.
• Prepare quality reports and dashboards for management and client review.
• Support preparation of handover and close-out documents.

Coordination & Site Support

• Coordinate with MEP engineers, site supervisors, contractors, and consultants.
• Attend QA/QC meetings and site coordination meetings.
• Provide technical guidance to site teams on quality requirements.
• Support audits by clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities.

Standards, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with international and local standards (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC, BS, ASTM, IPC).
• Promote quality awareness and continuous improvement on site.
• Ensure QA/QC activities align with project HSE requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Building Services Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in MEP QA/QC roles (depending on seniority).
• Experience on large-scale residential, commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
• Certification in QA/QC or Quality Management (ISO 9001) is an advantage.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of MEP systems: HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, electrical, ELV.
• Familiarity with international codes and standards.
• Ability to review drawings, specifications, and technical submittals.
• Proficiency in MS Office and QA/QC documentation tools.
• Knowledge of testing and commissioning procedures.
