Job Title: MEP Engineer (Building Construction)Location: Lagos IslandSalary: #500,000 - #600,000Job Summary:Our client is seeking a skilled MEP Engineer to oversee and manage mechanical systems in building construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, installation, and maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.Key Responsibilities:Design & Planning:Develop mechanical system designs, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments to determine project requirements.Project Execution:Supervise the installation and commissioning of mechanical systems in buildings.Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, electrical engineers, and contractors to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.Conduct site inspections to monitor progress and adherence to safety and quality standards.Compliance & Quality Control:Ensure all mechanical systems comply with local building codes, regulations, and safety standards.Perform testing and troubleshooting of mechanical systems to ensure optimal functionality.Address and resolve technical issues during construction and post - construction phases.Maintenance & Documentation:Develop maintenance schedules and operational procedures for mechanical systems.Keep records of design modifications, project progress, and equipment specifications.Provide training and guidance to site personnel on mechanical system operations.Qualifications & Skills:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in building construction.Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit MEP) and other engineering tools.Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems, sewage management.Familiarity with local building codes, standards, and regulations.
