About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Human Resource Manager to lead the HR function for a leading manufacturing company in the polythene polymer industry. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in manufacturing, particularly within the cellophane and nylon production sector, and will be responsible for driving people strategy, ensuring compliance, and supporting business growth through effective talent management and HR operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning to meet operational and business objectives.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Manage employee relations, disciplinary processes, grievance handling, and conflict resolution.
  • Drive performance management, succession planning, and employee development initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with Nigerian labour laws, statutory regulations, and company policies.
  • Oversee compensation, benefits administration, payroll coordination, and employee welfare programmes.
  • Collaborate with department heads to identify manpower requirements and build high-performing teams.
  • Develop and implement employee engagement and retention strategies.
  • Maintain accurate HR records, prepare management reports, and monitor key HR metrics.
  • Foster a positive workplace culture that promotes productivity, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related discipline.
  • 10–12 years of progressive HR experience within the manufacturing sector.
  • Mandatory: Proven HR experience in Polythene Polymer Manufacturing (Cellophane & Nylon).
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian labour laws and HR best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and organisational development.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Professional HR certification (CIPM, SHRM, HRCI, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
