This new role will play a pivotal role in shaping and amplifying our voice—internally and externally—ensuring that our narrative aligns with our ambitions. This role is central to building trust, engagement, and clarity across our global team and with our external stakeholders.Role Definition: Corporate Affairs ManagerThe Corporate Affairs Manager is a seasoned professional who, in the first instance, will lead comprehensive communications strategy and operations that support our continuing growth, and looking ahead, will manage other evolving elements of the corporate affairs brief (including, potentially, ESG, government engagement, and charity engagement).With regard to communications, this individual will be the primary point of contact for and manager of all internal communications and will coordinate with external service providers to manage and elevate our external communications. The role demands exceptional verbal and written communication skills, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of brand development and stakeholder engagement.RequirementsInternal Communications: Work with the CEO and COO to design and deliver a cohesive internal communications framework that fosters transparency, alignment, and engagement across all departments and geographies. External Communications: Act as liaison between Union Maritime and external agencies, and directly with media and others as necessary, ensuring consistency, quality, and strategic alignment in all external messaging. Brand: Lead initiatives to refine and deploy Union Maritime's brand identity. Ensure brand consistency in tone, visuals, and messaging. Executive Communications and other Presentations: Oversee production of high - impact presentations, speeches, and strategic messaging. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key industry contacts, media outlets, and communication partners to enhance Union Maritime's visibility and reputation. Core Competencies & SkillsTop - Class Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication. Ability to craft clear and persuasive messages for diverse audiences. Strategic Thinking: Ability to align communications initiatives with business goals and anticipate communication needs in a dynamic environment. Brand & Narrative Development: Experience in shaping and evolving brand identity and corporate storytelling. Stakeholder Management: Skilled in managing relationships across internal teams and external partners, with diplomacy and influence. Presentation Excellence: Strong design and delivery skills for executive - level presentations and public speaking engagements. Qualifications & Required Knowledge Experience: Minimum 8 years in communications roles, ideally within global or at least regional organizations. Industry Contacts: Established network within media. Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with communication platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams), design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe), and analytics tools for measuring engagement.
