Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Chief Operating Officer (COO) role based in Abuja, Nigeria. The Chief Operating Officer (Group) will report directly to the Group CEO and will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of FHEMFEL Group and its subsidiaries, including FHEMFEL Homes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • 1. Group Operations Management Design and implement Group-wide operational frameworks to ensure efficiency, consistency, and scalability across all subsidiaries.Oversee end-to-end operations of business units, ensuring timely execution of projects, optimized resource allocation, and cost discipline.
  • 2. Administration & Governance Oversight Strengthen corporate governance, internal controls, and compliance across the Group. Establish and enforce standardized policies, procedures, and reporting structures.
  • 3. Business Development& Growth Execution Translate Group strategy into executable growth initiatives across subsidiaries. Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and market expansions aligned with the Group’s long-term vision.
  • 4. Performance Management & Reporting Implement Group-wide KPIs, dashboards, and performance reviews to track operational, financial, and strategic outcomes. Use data and analytics to identify bottlenecks, manage risk, and drive continuous improvement.
  • 5. Leadership & Culture Build and lead high-performing management teams across subsidiaries. Foster a culture of accountability, execution excellence, and collaboration. Act as a key thought partner to the CEO and Board on operational and strategic matters.

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Real Estate, Engineering, or a related field.
  • MBA or relevant advanced degree is strongly preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in senior operational or general management roles.
  • At least 5 years at executive level (COO, Operations Director, or equivalent), preferably within a group structure or multi-business environment.
  • Proven experience scaling operations, managing complex organizations, and supporting business expansion.
